Clan of Vectrex

We are Clan of Vectrex. We play synth music. Our songs are instrumental. The sound of oscillators is poetry in itself and renders human voices and words obsolete. We hold dear the sounds from Sequential OB6, Roland JX3P, MiniMoog, Casio CZ 5000, Yamaha CS-15, Korg DW8000 and above all the Casio VL-tone. What a wonderful piece of gear it is. We also worship the Vectrex gaming console from 1982-1984 (RIP).The aim of this musical project is to produce 28 instrumental songs on synthesizers, each titled as one of the 28 Vectrex games. Every song is a tribute and an imagined soundtrack to the Vectrex game it shares its title with. It's also a tribute to the electronic music from that time. Our other sources of cultural inspiration is Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, swedish björnklister, Skinny Puppy, the "A broken frame" album by Depeche mode, the "Reproduction" and "Travelogue" albums by the Human League, the Bladerunner movie and music by Vangelis, John Carpenter, The Toxic Avenger, Edward Munch, Sisters of Mercy, Freddie Kreuger, the taste of Marmite and Bovril on toasts, Arnold Scharzenegger, Stadt Hamburg in Malmö 1985-1987, Page, Etage Neun and Ausgang Verboten. We realize that the reneisance was a big deal, but we firmly believe that human culture peaked 1983.
