Beautiful Skeletons Drop a Huge EP

A massive new EP release from Beautiful Skeletons delivers a massive soiree of heavy and hard-hitting rock genres that range from alternative rock all the way through to a gothic-laced metal that all comes with a lush personality and character and a blend of tonalities and textures that lends a hand to bringing a fierce but balanced tone to the entire record.

The Temperance EP spans five tracks and is about half an hour in length, but it feels bigger because the tones of everything add a vastness and expansive feeling to the record, which just makes everything more intense and almost cinematic.

This record breeds some ridiculous riffs, and the guitar tones can be both crunchy and melodic but again, this thing ranges in terms of that heavy rock, so some songs have trudging metal approaches while others bring on a kind of 90s edgy alternative rock tone like Deftones for example.

The beauty of this album is that the music of it is massive and hits with a fire, brilliant bass guitar lines bringing a thick low end and a rumbling soundscape, the guitar sections are all super well done but also a little experimental so they have this bit of looseness in their tongue that's done on purpose so that you have that alt rock feel, and then you have pounding drums that add all this drive and help push everything through to where the songs needed to be.

The vocals are key with this record because this vocalist has such a gorgeous voice. She releases so much emotion and passion and her delivery but it's got soul, brilliant vibrato's, and these levels of intensity that swell and sway which go right alongside with how the music itself is arranged so everything really compliments each other throughout this entire release.

That balance of textures is impressive. This is the kind of album that you listen to from beginning to end because if you only listen to one track or maybe two, then although you may get an idea of what you can expect, it will not give you anywhere near the full spectrum of what the full EP has to offer as a whole.

Believe me when I tell you that there are layers to be peeled back here and it's incredibly fun to do just that.

Some of the grooves are super deep-rooted and hit ultra-hard and the band does have this energy that's completely electric right from the start.

It actually feels like these tracks will record it live on the floor and everyone involved was just feeding off each other's energies the entire time.

This is part of where those swells of intensity come from but it also has a lot to do with the arrangements of these tracks.

You can tell that there was a lot of thought and attention paid to the details in terms of how the songs were tracked and the compositions of them as well, but it never loses this character or heart that it starts with, and this may be the most important aspect of the entire thing.

This was an absolutely killer record from Beautiful Skeletons. I feel like it speaks volumes for the band because I adore any track I can listen to and know immediately that this band would be intense to see live.

You don't get that a lot anymore so when it comes along it's incredibly refreshing.

This is a banger of a release and all the tracks have something slightly different to offer while still keeping to this staple feel and aesthetic that the record delivers.

It is most certainly heavy but melodically and vastly so this record is something that you can get engulfed in.

Definitely check this record out when you can and when you do, I will again urge you to listen to the full release from start to finish.

You should also do it loud or even with headphones on because all kinds of cool little ghost note elements and tones give these songs a little bit of that expansive underbelly and a lot of that stuff is heard best with headphones.

Either way, if you're a fan of classic edgy, heavy, metal, and alternative rock then this is 100% for you.

I fell in love with this straight away.

Crank this record right now and remember where you heard it first.
