“Ashes of Light” Finds Madzilla LV Right in the Middle of the Action

It’s a Tuesday night, and my editor says: “You’re on Madzilla LV’s new video. Give it a spin.” Not gonna lie, I’m pretty stoked. If you’re a metalhead who actually pays attention, you know Madzilla LV’s name has been bubbling, and for good reason.
Their latest, “Ashes of Light,” just dropped with a video that’s pure road dog fever. Forget all that overproduced, green-screen nonsense. This is real-deal footage from their South American run, yeah, the one where they landed the opening slot for Living Colour. You know, “Cult of Personality”? That Living Colour.
From the first shot, you get slammed into the chaos: cramped venues, fists in the air, Madzilla LV pouring themselves out onstage. The band’s got that old-school, blue-collar grind, endless shows, no shortcuts, just riffs and sweat and a lot of miles on busted highways. You can feel the exhaustion and the hunger, and that’s what sets them apart from most of these Insta-metal wannabes.
Musically, “Ashes of Light” is heavy enough to rattle your fillings but smart enough to dodge the usual pitfalls. The lyrics touch on the idea that even good things can burn you, and how light isn’t always the salvation; sometimes it’s a spotlight that fries you alive.
If I had to nitpick at all, I’d say the video could’ve used a few more close-ups on the playing, because sometimes I want to see the musicianship up close. But honestly, that’s just me splitting hairs. Madzilla LV is coming up, and this video screams that they mean it.
Bottom line: “Ashes of Light” is the sound of a band earning their scars and starting to turn heads for all the right reasons. I got the good end of this assignment. If you’re a metalhead looking for the next band to believe in, Madzilla LV should be on your radar—no apologies, no shortcuts, just pure, road-tested
fire.
