An Interview With Mandy Corrente

A new single from Mandy Corrente comes through with a youthful and vibrant approach that brings a colorful atmosphere and a track that ends up being incredibly danceable and addictive.

"Baby Ily" is endlessly fun and has such a brightness to it that doesn't only come through with the vocals but also with the way the music was produced to have this almost bubbly drive.

This whole approach works well because the song is something that starts making you move almost right from the get-go.

This is a get-up-and-dance-around-the-living-room type of song and it's really impressive because the artist is young and passionate but also has such a knack for performance and delivery that it's crazy.

Mandy shows an incredible presence throughout the single and in the end, it makes you want to see her perform live to see if that energy is still there.

A lot of times it's hard to get energy like that on a recording but Mandy pulls it off pretty naturally it would seem.

The song has charm, it's fun, and it's something that you could hear on a pop radio station in both Spanish and English.

Being able to combine everything like that and make it work so smoothly is insanely impressive and Mandy has begun to pave for own way in the pop arena.

Another fun thing about Mandy is that because she's so young, we get to see how her sound evolves as she does.

This aspect is really exciting because she's so good at what she does now that it'll be interesting to see what genre she morphs into as she grows older.

Either way, I'm sure it'll be great because again, this all feels like it comes naturally to her. And I don't just mean the songwriting, I mean the performance and the presence as an artist as well.

All those things are really important to have when you're releasing singles like this in the pop world.

Mandy doesn't miss a beat and with the release of such a vibrant single, we wanted to have a sit down with her to see where it came from and what is coming up next for her as an artist.

Here's what happened.

Buzz Slayers: Let's kick things off with "Baby ILY". This song has a bright and flavorful pop feel to it. Where did this song come from?

I thought of the idea of continuing the Story from my first Valentine’s song called “All my Love”.

It is always so fun when you receive your first Valentine or Note at school where all your friends are involved. These are moments you will never forget no matter how old you are.

Buzz Slayers: When did this all start for you? When did you fall in love with music?

It all started when I was 5 years old, and I decided to make my first song. I was always singing and dancing, it is what I wanted to do. I fell in love with music when I started to sing at 5 years old. I was really excited and inspired to continue to make more music when I heard my first original song for the first time.

Buzz Slayers: What inspires you to write a song?

I talk about my ideas with my mom. Things like my daily life, what’s trending, things that I like and things that make me happy are what I want to write and sing about. I want my music to make others happy too!

Buzz Slayers: This single has some great styles! Can you give us some of your top musical influences?

Oh! Thank you. I really get inspired by my brother, he’s more into rock and I see him all the time playing drums and playing guitar, that really inspires me to continue my musical education. Also, I love Shakira, Jlo, Justin, Rhianna and any artist that dance and sing.

Buzz Slayers: What are you doing when you're NOT working on music?

I go to dance, gymnastics, play drums and piano, and just have fun like other kids. I love being with my friends.

Buzz Slayers: Who' in your headphones right now?

Weezer "I just Threw Out the Love of my Life" because I’m playing the song on Drums.

Buzz Slayers: Are you doing any live performances right now?

Yes, I did a private event on January from Uforia Music, I’m going to Medellin to perform on a music festival and I’m also performing for the NBA Miami Heats in March.

Buzz Slayers: This song feels like a big undertaking, is there any advice you'd give to other up and coming artists out there?

Just follow your dreams, don’t compare yourself and wait for your moment, it will come.

Buzz Slayers: What can your fans expect from you in the near future?

Lot of music, lot of YouTube videos and probably more acting.

Buzz Slayers: Before we go, what would you like to say to fans of the music?

Music helps to express our self’s and bring hope to the world with positive vibes and lyrics. Just remember to listen songs that inspire you to be better.
