An Emotionally Driving Single and Music Video from December Fades

Now, this is how I interpreted the song. I took the song as a story of loss and overcoming, sharing the light in the dark, pulling through, and in the end, carrying that light with you.
However, others may take it a little differently. I feel like this is a song that each listener will soak in how they want to.
For me, that sentiment was loud and clear; it came through wonderfully, and the whole song builds such a robust atmosphere.
This is also a track that builds up to a great climactic ending where you have that final chorus in full swing. At that moment in time, the song is very full-bodied and lush.
It's at its highest and most intense point, and it feels very bright and sort of empowering while still keeping some of that edginess and spaciousness along with it.
This song definitely never strays from its pop sensibility. It definitely comes from some real place within the artist's life experience, but it doesn't let go of the pop elements.
This was quite an impactful single, and the accompanying music video showcases a whole different side to that.
The video follows the artist walking through a jungle, singing at waterfalls and rock cliffs, walking past defunct, decrepit vehicles, standing at a rocky beach, and it just makes it feel so traveled.
The cool thing about this video is that it makes the song feel more spiritual than it would otherwise.
The visuals are enticing, full of color, and it breathes a different life into the song itself somehow.
This coming to me is an amazing introduction to December Fades, as you are able to get such a great idea for the project itself, and how this is an artist that gives pieces of himself in his music in different ways.
This single alone showcases how he pulls together a slew of influences to create something that is all his own, but it comes with that character attached to it the entire time.
In turn, this is what you end up getting attached to as well.
I also suggest listening to this track with headphones on, because it's one of the best ways to soak in all of the textures and tones coming from the instruments and vocals.
This song absolutely engulfs you, and the vocals have an amazing dynamic range and understanding. The way he utilizes his voice and can keep it almost to a whisper during the verses for calmer moments and bring it up, and let it rise to the more intense moments is amazing.
I would also suggest checking out "Young Love", which also shows a different side to his artistry. This track is much more hard-hitting, edgy, alternatively based, and electronically driven.
The single features huge synthesizers and a neon-lit backbone that gives everything a glow.
It also displays some of the artist's production abilities in terms of sound sculpting with vocals and instrumentation.
