An Album from Strea Lets Her Presence Shine

A massive album release from Strea manages to mend genres as the record touches on everything from progressive, alternative, and indie rock but also brings an almost orchestral touch to its undertone with a combination of hard-edged music at times but with these powerful and soulful vocals that lay atop everything and give the whole release more power.

The Gold And Mess album is sonically driving but also incorporates classic rock influences in its underbelly, so you get a flurry of catchy elements that bring together that heavier and alternative soundscape with a bit of classic rock songwriting, so everything has such an impactful feel.

This is most certainly a record you listen to all the way through. No two songs are alike, and there's not much cookie-cutter about it. It reaches outside the lines and creates a gorgeous world for you to step into.

The combination of rock influences with this powerful and bountiful vocal approach makes for something that leaves a mark and there are a lot of tracks here that you end up still hearing in your head for days after the songs have ended.

The progressive element is strong here and the actual progressions, riffs, and guitar work across the board are outstanding. There are different tonalities as the record unfolds and each track stands on its own two feet as a single but if you listen to the record as a whole, it's a completely different experience.

The entire band has an energy that you can feed into. It's vibrant and vivacious but still packs a punch with some amazing surprises around the corners.

There's also some incredible key and synth work throughout this record. There's a piano track that's focused more on just the instrument and vocals that comes through incredibly powerfully, there's all kinds of experimental and almost psychedelic style synths throughout the record at times, and even organs that thicken songs up and add more to that classic rock influence you can hear throughout the record.

As I said before, there are no two songs that are alike here, and even when that's the case, you can still get a staple feel by the time you get halfway through the record. You pick up on the vibes and aesthetic of this record quickly and they stick to it.

There's also a lot of cinematic backbone happening here. You can picture a lot of these tracks in the scenes of films because some of them are emotionally driving and upfront in terms of the honesty level.

This is also something you end up getting connected with throughout the record.

You can't get away from these vocals. They are so beautifully performed with a gracefulness that sweeps you up and pulls you in.

This is a huge attribute to why the record has so much going on.

Her vocals had such a lushness to the textures of the songs that they come through full-bodied but crisp at the same time.

I found the record to really be quite an experience and again, listening to it all the way through is the best way to do it because it's meant to be listened to that way.

This is a release that is meant to be a full album that you take in all at once. This way you can get a grasp on everything that's going on in terms of the emotion, the inner thoughts, and the personality given off throughout these songs.

I would take the time to kick back and drink this record in because it will give you such a great and layered experience.

Dive into this record when you can and remember where you heard it first.
