The latest album release from Zoetic delivers a lush contemporary pop approach with lots of beautiful undertones and plenty of character that you end up enjoying throughout the record as well.
The Made in the Image album feels very personal, and I think that this sort of project is something that comes from the heart, especially with this release in particular.
The record comes with a biblical undertone and some songs certainly reach outside that aspect and get personal in a different way but either way, you're getting a lot of honesty and inner thought that's being strewn throughout the album, and this is part of what makes it so authentic.
It's a youthful record that manages to blend elements of jazz, pop, contemporary, singer-songwriter, and so much more just rolled into one great record that also boasts a particular kind of energy that ends up all coming together to create an atmosphere that you just don't want to leave.
When the record is over you feel like you know the band better and when I say the band I mean Kierstyn St.John and Emma Voron who make up the entire project as a duo.
Between the two of them I feel like they may have found their sort of musical soulmates with each other and have been able to put together such a robust and enlightening release that feels good to listen to.
There are ups and downs throughout the record in terms of the emotional side of things but all in all, this is a genuine album that does indeed feel good when you listen to it.
It's one of the records that you want to listen to in full. If you listen to one or two songs from this release it may give you a little bit of a gist for what to come but it will not give you anywhere near the full spectrum of what the entire album has to offer as a whole.
And believe me, there's plenty to offer here because between the two of them, they're very experimental in their production and vocal approaches, and they're able to still pull it together with such a smooth and forward-moving flow that it all feels completely natural.
A lot of the songs have this bright and vivacious overtone and a lot of it also has a welcoming feeling.
Once you realize they're letting you into their personas and that they give off so much thick character, you end up really getting involved.
This is something you don't come across often so when you do it's completely refreshing and even rejuvenating in certain ways.
I definitely adore the vocals on this record just as much as the production because not only does everything line up perfectly, but there's this amazing dynamic balance and such an incredible range all performed with a gracefulness that feels warm.
This was very impressive, and I enjoyed every single track.
Again, I strongly suggest listening to the full album from beginning to end so that you can soak in everything it has to offer.
There are all kinds of experimental and fun production going on, and again, that mending of genres and bending of styles is really outstanding.
Check this album out when you can and enjoy this charismatic, honest, and youthful endeavor from Zoetic, and see how it affects you.
