The latest single release from Isabella Snow brings out a refreshing and edgy rock tone that takes that feel of '90s alternative pop rock and blends it with this Soulful set of vocals that still have that youthful energy and that crisp feel and it all creates an atmosphere that almost feels nostalgic in a way.
There's something about "7-11 Beanie" that you fall in love with almost right off the bat and I think it has a lot to do with Isabella's character throughout this track.
There's something familiar and comfortable about it but it's also so refreshing to hear at the same time.
She's got that edginess in her tone and still shows soul but you also get these great elements of other genres of rock that blend into the whole thing and this creates something that feels good.
You have classic rock sounding guitar harmonies that flow in and out through the song while she boasts that pop brightness and presents.
You also get horns that come in during the song that flow just beneath the guitar distortion.
All this with such a vibrant and colorful attitude that the song just thrives off of makes everything addictive.
Isabella certainly doesn't hold back in terms of showing those pipes because her range is incredible and super on point but it's always performed with this wonderful love for her craft.
That love is Just oozing throughout this entire song and it's one of the things that make it so fun.
It's like you can hear her having a great time on the recording itself and it makes you want to go see her live because if she can get this kind of energy on a recording then imagine what her live performance would be like.
This is the kind of thing we need more of in the Rock world right now especially pop oriented Rock.
We need character and liveliness with hints of whimsical attributes and loads of heart involved.
I think that a lot of the more current rock music has become a bit more on the serious side. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, but when it comes to that radio friendly Rock style and approach we want something that's joinable.
We want something that we can sing along with or dance around the living room to.
And all of this is delivered with this single release which is one of the more delightful feelings you've had listening to music in a while.
I think one of the best things is that the edginess of everything is still always there throughout all the color and heart, which is cool.
It never loses that rock edge or that tone of alternative sensibility.
This was really something I missed and I'm very glad to be hearing an artist that brought it back this way.
Now, "7-11 Beanie" is a taste of an upcoming EP release from the artist as well so we have that to look forward to.
Definitely dive into this one when you can and if you like it which I'm sure you will, then make sure you follow her Spotify so that you're updated on when the EP actually gets released because I'm sure if it's anything like this track, it's going to be awesome.
