A Vast Alt-Pop Release from Dutch Holly

A new single release from Dutch Holly brings out an alternative pop soundscape that delivers a massive vastness that has the ability to wrap itself around you and keep you right where it wants to, but it's also done with this cinematic backbone and character for you to get attached to as well.

"Now" as layers that could be peeled back both musically and lyrically has everything drifts in a flowing sort of movement and lets you feel like you're floating a few inches above the ground the entire time almost as if in a dream.

There are more than a few surprises around the corners of this track which was pleasant and something about it gives me a little bit of a nostalgic feeling because it hints towards a 90s Underground old pop sound at times that I really enjoyed.

There notes and instruments that float through the song's ether, layers of vocal tracks, and a lot of the instrumentation is dripping with revert which all creates a certain atmosphere that you can fall right into along with musical hooks by the way which is something I haven't heard in a good pop song and quite some time.

There's definitely influence of vintage pop coming through in the sense and even the way the guitars sound tone-wise and it all lets you sort of get engulfed, but it also still has that mix of color and edginess to it.

This is a song that was definitely done with a lot of attention to detail and even through all of that it is delivered with a certain kind of persona or character that never leaves which is something that you end up wanting more of by the end of the song.

Everything about this was gracefully done and even the mix of the track was super spot on because a song like this has to come through with a certain feeling to it and it's the mix of that song that really plays a huge part in letting that aesthetic work.

So, whoever makes this song really had the right frame of mind because the track does have that cross of old and new, pop and haunt, and dreaminess that coats the whole thing.

Upon listening to this track, I took it upon myself to take a little bit of a deep dive into the back catalog of Dutch Holly and I'm definitely glad I did because there is a slew of music released each with a little bit of a different vibe and through those songs you can hear the evolution of the indie-pop duo musically and personally as well at times.

This is something I adore because when I find a new artist that's what I want to do. I want to learn more about them and hear their previous releases and I also love when those previous releases surprise me a little bit.

I would definitely keep an eye out for whatever else is being released from Dutch Holly and if you like this track which I'm sure you will, then I would check out some of the previous singles as well.

This was a beautifully woven single and it was done with heart, character, detail, personality, and lets you escape into a different world for a little chunk of time.

Remember where you heard it first.
