A Pop Soiree from Joshua McCooey

A brand-new single release from Joshua McCooey brings out a bright and vibrant combination of classic contemporary and indie pop as he brings the genres together seamlessly with a robust character and an endless energy that makes everything completely addicting right from the get-go.

"Smile Paradise" is not only riddled with character but also with an array of instrumentation that brings the song together in the form of horns, keys, guitars, and so much more that all end up feeling so well-rounded but I think it's that electric energy that really pulls you in because, in a way, the track almost feels like it was recorded live on the floor and everyone involved was just feeding off of each other the entire time.

I love this vibe because it comes through with such a colorful tonality and such a youthful gusto that those elements push the song to a place that it becomes infectious and gives you hooks that stick with you for hours after the song has ended.

The only way to satiate something like that is to go and listen to it again which to me is smart songwriting but I think for Joshua it's just the natural flow of how he writes music.

When you listen to this track you just get such bright vibes and it's such an uplifting single that you come out of it feeling a little bit better so it's literally a song that feels good to listen to and I feel like we need a lot more of that in music these days.

I also love the combination of old-school and new-school pop approaches bringing in those horn sections especially touch on that classic pop approach and also brings in a little bit of a bigger production which makes the song feel lusher and more full-bodied.

It's that sort of intense and vivacious performance from Joshua that lets everything wrap itself around you and keep you right where it wants to.

There's a warmth and loads of heart that come from this track and it speaks volumes for Joshua as an artist because his presence really shines on this one.

This is a pure pop single that fits in with loads of the stuff being played on the radio now and over the past five or six years easily.

Between the organs and the horns along with those vocals, it all has that almost Southern hint in there and I love that too because that's also what adds the warmth to this track to an extent.

It all comes together with such a fun punch but also has that welcoming undertone so you get a lot of great approaches throughout this track, and upon listening to it I took a bit of a deep dive into Joshua's back catalog on Spotify and I'm glad that I did because there's an EP that was released last year along with a single release just previously to this one that also a little bit of a different side to how he writes his music, how he is as a person, and it was sort of fun to listen to that a little bit of evolution.

I would suggest checking out his other songs especially if you like this one which I'm sure you will and when you do listen to this track, don't be afraid to turn it nice and loud because this way it really fills the room with that positive energy and charisma.

These are two attributes that really nail down what the song is all about.

Check this track out as soon as you can and remember where you heard it first.
