A beautiful and heartfelt new single from Keltrix delivers an absolutely gorgeous set of textures with violins and strings that give the song a very unique flow and help build the emotional backbone that the whole thing gives off in the first place, along with rhythmically bouncing acoustic guitars, and a very impactful soundscape.
"Sharon" is the song that serves as a love letter to the band's original violinist, who they lost to cancer last year.
Throughout this song, you can hear the pain, and lyrically, everything comes through with such sheer honesty that you can feel the vulnerability and the sense of just being unafraid to let emotions flow.
This is part of why the song feels so cinematic to me. It's got that heavy-handed emotion, sadness, sorrow, and others that go along with the loss of someone close.
To me, this is a brave song. It takes a lot of guts to put something like this out there, and such a sentimental and authentic piece of work takes that certain level of letting go. This is because you have to confront those emotions when
Lyrics really hit hard. They're not sugar-coated; they're very straightforward, and anyone who has lost someone close to them can absolutely relate to this 100%.
The song connected with me right off the bat, and because of the musical Force that's it's very hard to turn away from.
What I mean by that is, this single has such a beautiful balance of emotion between the lyrics and the music.
The music really does set the mood and the aesthetic for the song perfectly, and the vocal performance is gorgeous.
The whole thing is being performed from the heart, and you can tell it was probably something hard to do. Singing songs like this is not easy. It can be quite difficult because, as you're performing them, I would imagine that you're thinking about that person, and that can be painful.
Most of all, it takes a lot of guts to say these things and then put it out there for the whole world to hear.
This has a lot of inner thought and emotion that comes spilling out for everyone to soak up, and that's what makes the song so powerful. It holds nothing back and still serves as such a beautiful ode to that person.
As the song unfolds, you can't help but think of your own life and the people you have lost, and I think that's part of where the connection lies.
I feel like you're supposed to have that sense while you listen to a song like this. This is part of its authenticity in the first place.
Sounds like this comes from very genuine places. Life has a way of delivering these struggles, and different people deal with that in their own way.
Keri Kel of Keltrix, wanted to write something that had depth, meaning, sentiment, and love. This was completely accomplished, and when you listen to the song, you can feel all of that.
The whole thing was wonderfully woven and carries with it the classic Keltrix Stables. It's got that sort of rustic folk undertone, it's a bit driving but very vast in its underbelly, it's got a lot of spaciousness, and creates this amazing atmosphere that pulls you away from wherever you are and puts you in a different headspace.
I think we want that when we listen to music like this. We want to be pulled away and put in a different headspace. It's a place that lets you feel, and I think it's important to have music that lets that happen.
Music is meant for you to feel something when you hear it. At least, music like this is. I think it's important for us to have music that reminds us of certain things, people, situations, or parts of our lives that might have otherwise been lost in the trials of life.
Either way, this was a very sort of intense but beautiful and flowing piece of work that served as an amazing dedication to a close friend and performer, and I'm sure wherever she is, she's listening to it.
This is a song that's for people who want to feel something when they hear music. So if you're one of those people, absolutely listen to this song and do it with headphones on so you're not missing any of the outstanding layers and textures that are happening throughout its course.
You also don't want to miss the lyrics, because that's the story. That's the point.
This whole thing had all-around brilliant performances that were based on totally warm and natural instrumentation and felt incredible to listen to.
So, jump into this now and see how it affects you, because I'm sure it will.
Remember where you heard this first.
