A Driving New Single from Blacklist Union

A banger of a new single from Blacklist Union delivers a massive Sonic drive with tons of energy that come together with righteous riffs and gritty guitar tones that give the track a robust Rock aesthetic from start to end.


There's not a lot that holds this track back. The vocals are completely boisterous, right in your face, and lyrically, the song worships a woman and the idea that love can still be found after your heart's been broken.


The track is a hard-hitting,  features a blend of classic Hard Rock along with a new alternative overtone, hints of metal, and this anthemic chorus that just comes through with an impactful approach.


One of my favorite aspects about "Madame Butterfly" is the way the band brings in a slew of influences that helped create their sound, all in one track.


Also, the guitar tones layered on top of each other sound amazing. There's a little breakdown section where you hear one particular guitar going on its own and it has a super dirty, fuzz tone sound that, when all the guitars are going to come you don't hear it that way.


When that guitar is going by itself though, you can hear how that particular fuzz tone feel adds to the overall Drive of the song.


These guys are absolutely brilliant at layering those tones and creating robust textures that give you badass rock soundscapes.


The track is an honest one. Again, it's mainly about being all about someone, even after you had a breakup or heartbreak. When your heart is broken you feel like you'll never find someone else, nor do you really look or want to for that matter.


But it is about finding something special again and sort of being a little obsessed with it.


The lyrics bring that Honesty into a sort of 80s metal aesthetic which is awesome. 


The single comes with a fun packed music video showing the band cruising around LA, performing live, and more. It all gives you an even better idea of their energy and makes you want to see them live even more. 


The video is also kind of classic and I love the cinematography and effects used throughout it all. 


I feel like the video represents the band well as the single itself bears that unstoppable drive from start to finish. 


Digging into their previous releases is also a damn good time. Songs like "Jackson" also give you a better idea of their expanding rock sound.
