A Beautifully Guitar Driven Record from Ugochill

Suppose you are generally unfamiliar with the music of Ugochill. In that case, I think it's time we turned you on to this project because there was an album that was released really shakes things up a bit in terms of blending genres and bringing elements of jam-rock, pop rock, indie, pop in general, and plenty more to the table and putting all of those attributes together to create something that comes through as very memorable but also at times, warm and welcoming.

The album is called Chill Em All, and certainly doesn't waste very much time giving you some of the Staples that the album provides with the very first track called "True Love".

This is a song that feels great to listen to because it's so spirited and has these layers of color and energy that come at you from all angles. The guitar work is outstanding and does indeed give you a classic and jam-rock kind of vibe with guitar tones that are slightly warm and have that tube tone to them. If you're a guitar player, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about.

The keys and synths are also outstanding here because they deliver this sort of vast atmosphere that helps the song work in a lot of ways.

These are some of the attributes and elements that you will see throughout the record, and I feel like this is an amazing song to introduce the entire album with.

Now, there are plenty of unique sorts of surprises throughout this record, and you get heavier tones as well. A song called "Vibration" serves as a near-perfect example of exactly what I mean.

The track comes in with rocked out guitars that have a heavier distortion to them, and these keys that are also affected by some kind of distortion or fuzz tone, giving the entire thing a thick feel.

Throughout this record, there is definitely a lot of focus on the outstanding and lush guitar work that really sets moods across its course.

A lot of tracks provide their own aesthetic or mood, atmosphere, or just vibe in general.

It's not just a clever title; the album is indeed very chill, and that's something I loved about it.

Another thing I really enjoyed was the fact that there are those surprises throughout the record. This is not the type of album where you just listen to one or two songs. This is an album you listen to all the way through from start to finish, and this way you can experience the journey.

If you listen to this record with headphones on, you can soak in all these gorgeous layers and textures that it puts out there, and I feel like you can float alongside this record very easily by doing that.

Tracks like "Space Between Moments" deliver some of that dreamy, floaty, cinematic aesthetic, and I really get pulled into songs like that because those are the kind of songs that trigger your imagination or thought process.

Again, they really set a unique mood, but it lets your mind go where it wants to from there.

I grew up a fan of a lot of different guitar players who were known for just being great. Players like Joe Satriani or Steve Vai, for example.

Sometimes, with certain tracks like the title track from this record, I get those kinds of vibes.

I love that because I haven't felt that in a long time, and to hear such a guitar-focused and driven record that is done with such tasteful and graceful performances felt good to me.

You can tell there was a lot of attention to detail that went into the recording process and even into the tonalities of every single instrument played.

This was a well-crafted album with attention to detail, but it still had loads of heart and emotion behind the songs, which helped it open up into a more expansive and spacious atmosphere that lets you float around the soundscapes.

This was a beautiful record and again, I suggest you listen to this one with headphones on so you can really soak everything in the way it was meant to be.

Dive into this as soon as you can and remember where you heard it first.
