OTTAWA, ON – January 16, 2026 – Ottawa alternative rock mainstays Doll have officially launched into 2026 with the release of their explosive new single “Bear Claw,” premiering alongside a brand-new lyric video. Following the momentum of their 2025 comeback album Better Days, Better Times, the track marks the second installment in the band's "Animal Crackers" trilogy. “Bear Claw” showcases the band’s evolution, blending legacy riffs with hardcore elements first teased in their 2025 hit “Shark Bait.” Recorded through a low-fi setup to create a suspenseful, "spooky" atmosphere, the track relies on raw instrumentation—including heavy wah-wah pedal work and the crunch of the PRS MT100—without the use of keyboards. "We brought back some of that legacy Doll riffing... and really pushed ourselves creatively with the vocals and lyrics," the band explains. "I guess it depends on whether you’re more of a land or sea animal lover." The single features artwork by Mark Kidd, reimagining the classic Smokey the Bear as "Grungey," a rebellious figure with a chip on his shoulder.
