Ken Masuda

I was born in Turlock, California on February 23, 1942 and graduated from Livingston High School. I am a product of rural central California. My mother was the daughter of two samurai families which also shaped my outlook and attitudes. Both were modified during my time as a student at Cal-Berkeley in the 1960's and it was there I learned to play the guitar. Looking back, my major music influences have been Tom Petty, Lorena McKennitt, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, Billy Joel and hymns from the Livingston Methodist Church. Moving on to the present, my two most recent songs have been synth pop, that is, all the sounds, except for the vocals, have been created on a DAW (digital audio workstation), Finneas has inspired me to create in that genre.
