An Interview With Reese Warren

A bright and youthful new pop single from Reese Warren brings out a colorful character and an incredibly radio friendly approach to her performance to go along with a vibrant and crisp production to give everything the right feel, and it works like a charm.

"Thirteen" is a wonderful and catchy single that lets you get up and dance around the room and it has so much feeling to it as it means something important to the artist of course.

Warren sings about turning thirteen and becoming a teenager and its certainly something that others her age can understand/ The excitement of no longer being a "kid". Being thirteen is a big step and it's a beautiful thing to have someone that age be able to shine like this in order to express that excitement.

Not a lot of people that age are able to write a song like this or perform it quite like this either so it's a sweet sentiment.

This single is very poppy and really lets Warren resonate and do her thing with a soaring performance and with all the raw energy bursting through.

With such a great new release, we wanted to have a quick chat with Reese Warren to find out more of the single and what may be next for her.

Here's what happened.

Buzz Slayers: Let's kick things off with "Thirteen''. This single has a great drive and cinematic undertone feel to it. Where did this track come from?

Thank you! The track was made by my amazing teachers at The Music Vault OC. We all worked together to find the sound and vibe I was looking for.

Buzz Slayers: When did this all start for you? When did you fall in love with music?

I have always loved music. I think I really decided I wanted to sing and perform professionally when I was six years old.

Buzz Slayers: What inspires you to write a song?

My life experiences, everyday interactions and relationships are what I write about.

Buzz Slayers: This track has some great styles! Can you give us some of your top musical influences?

Some of my top musical influences are Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo and Queen. I love 80s music, style and clothes as well.

Buzz Slayers: What are you doing when you're NOT working on music?

When I am not working on music I am working on acting, dance and school.

Buzz Slayers: Who's in your headphones right now?

"Vienna" by Billy Joel and "Angel Eyes" by Abba.

Buzz Slayers: Are you doing any live performances right now?

I am currently organizing my performance schedule for next year.

Buzz Slayers: This single feels like a big undertaking, is there any advice you'd give to other up and coming artists out there?

It is a lot of work, but it is labor or love. If you love it, don't give up. It is a long process.

Buzz Slayers: What can your fans expect from you in the near future?

My fans can expect more music and more live performances.

Buzz Slayers: Before we go, what would you like to say to fans of the music?

Thank you for all of your love and support. We're just getting started!
